Newbie ! Jumping right in on SuSE10
Seems over whelming, should I start somewhere else and move up?I'm having trouble getting my home network (windows) printer working from my dual boot computer. Do I need samba? should I use GNOME orKDE? My printer is a USB off my XP office computer, the other computer is running Win2000.

You should go for KDE for a start. Make sure that your computer has alot of ram, because KDE is pretty ressourcedemanding. I can also recommend Gnome, it runs lighter but in my opinion it is s little 'harder' to configure than KDE. For a printersetup, check this out: (section called 'printer operation') http://www.novell.com/documentation/...dminguide.html The chapter is from the Reference guide. There is also a Startup guide. Both can be found here: http://www.novell.com/documentation/suse10/ Have fun :) |
