I have been waiting for Ubuntu 16.04 to begin my new learning of Linux (Always used Windows). But I would have to wait til the end of April to start learning, so I've decided to try L. Mint! Went to their site and they have 4 types (Mate, Kde, Cinnamon & Xfce), Which one do you guys suggest for a total Noob? Tks again DN

Hi...
That depends, in part, on your hardware, how old or new it is and what you have in the way of processing power and memory. Take a look at the guide here, perhaps it can assist you in your decision.

Interesting. Guy wanted to use ubuntu 16.04 but didn't want to wait till April (despite being 22nd March already). People suggest a distro based on ubuntu 14.04 - 2 years old
