Hi everybody:

As you can see, I'm a newbie. This is my first time trying to run Knoppix v3.6 on laptop HP Pavillion zv5000. I download this version 3.6 and I burned the cd at rate 16 mps (Have I do it at 4mps?)

I reboot my laptop and I saw the logo and the welcome message, passed the HDD, knoppix was reading the CDROM and get frozen ... PANIC... PANIC... I tried to reboot it by presing CTL+ALT+Del but nothing happened. After 30 minutes trying to figure out what's going on, I decided to shutdown it.

Q: Have I to download knoppix v4.0?

Q: What I make wrong?

PS: I know is a great challenge for me, that is why I'm here, I want to learn and have fun at the same time. If I have successful with Knoppix, my next step is taste FEDORA software. Please be careful with my English.

On laptops usually you have to boot with an fb option (like fb1024x768).
Did you try that?
Use F1 at the boot screen to see options availables. There is a special note for laptops.
