Newbie Here -- Please Help!!! Monitor Problems

...hey guys...

First, I'm a newbie to Linux so please excuse the ignorance. Second, I cant get my monitor to work with Knoppix. I have a KDS VS-7i monitor. My knoppix version is...Knoppix 3.3-11/19/2003.

Here's the error I get...

OUT OF RANGE
H = 81.4 kHz
V = 100 Hz

I have been to the website and gotten my correct settings.

www kdsusa com/product_details.asp?prod=188

(sorry for above...won't let me post a url without 5 previous posts)

H = 30 - 70 kHz
V = 50 - 160 Hz

Using the cheatcodes, I place the following at the prompt...

boot: knoppix hsync=60 vsync=100

It just keeps giving me the same error..."OUT OF RANGE." Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or what else I need to input? Thanks!

...Very frustrated...

Look in your manual or online manual and find where it lists all supported modes. Look at the 640x480 mode and use those refresh rates, if those dont work try the 600x800 values.
