newbie help

ok I have heard that in Linux files aren't always "deleted" fully. I accidentally replaced all my konqueror bookmarks with the mozilla ones and I was wondering if I could recover the lost konqueror bookmarks ... I know this sounds really dumb, and that it is. However, I really need those old konqueror bookmarks. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I can't help much beyond the obvious:

Check the Trash Can on your desktop. They'll be there only if you deleted them in the gui. If you did an "rm <file>" or if you overwrote them, then I don't know of any recovery method (unless you had backups).

No OS (afaik) fully deletes files. You can use some sort of disk recovery software to try to get your files back but they never work 100%.
