newbie can't load Shockwave 12
Thanks to the help found here I now have a bootable CD for Shockwave 12.
I was however expecting a GUI and I got a text based start. I think I need to format my HD and I wanted a dual boot. I'm using an ASUS MB with an Athalon 64 X2 4200 with 2G memory and a 500G SATA and a 250 G SATA HD. currently I have XP running on the machine. Now for the questions: How big of partitions should I use? How do I go about loading my software? (I was expecting something that sorta leads me through the install process) My old Red Hat was easy to install. but this Shockwave looks like unix. A step my step guide would be fantastic. |
I will assume you mean slackware 12, because I don't know of a "Shockwave 12". You need to run cfdisk, after you login as root with no password, to format your harddrive and set up paritions, then you will type setup and follow the installation from there. I suggest you read the Slackbook http://www.slackbook.org/, it will help you alot
