Newbie Boot Problem


i installed Slackware 11 and had no errors or problems i used the default kernal it had to install
when i rebooted and chose linux in lilo it ran through everything and it went great but it is still in the text

how do i initiate the GUI?

im too much of a n00b to go all text

Try entering "startx" at the command prompt. Hope this helps.

Another thing you can do in Slackware just before you type startx is type

xwmconfig
This will allow you to choose which of the 6 or 7 window managers to use.

thanks...i switched to suse 10.1 its a little more newbie friendly from what ive seen so far..
