Red face Newb In Need.com

*sigh* I've installed Linux 2 days ago... upon installing it, about the only thing I knew was that Linux was free, open source, and something called "root" was very important. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing otherwise. And a list of problems. I'm using SuSE 9.0 Pro.
I have some cheap Mitsuko mouse, that's scroll button won't work now.
An AMD Athlon XP 2700,
120gig HDD,
Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card,
512mb RAM,
Nvidia Nforce 2 MoBo,
Creative Labs SB Live EMU101k sound card,
with an Nforce2 Ethernet Controller.

And KDE

It took me forever to get the drivers and stuff working for the Ethernet Controller. And now whenever I restart my computer I have to go in the shell and type "modprobe nvnet" and then reconfigure the ethernet card before it works. So that's a real problem for me. I installed sound card drivers but I'm getting a nasty hissing noise on out of my speakers. My graphics card is chugging every once in a while. I mean, I need alot of help, I'm REALLY DUMB..... I really AM too.

Any suggestions whatsoever would be alot of help to me. I mean any whatsoever, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing.
