New to Ubuntu from Windows
 
I installed ubuntu from my dvd drive with XP on the machine, it is now a dual boot. Ubuntu does not recognize the dvd now, and when I try to open it(listed as UDF drive)it says it can not mount the drive?
I have no idea what is going on. Can anyone give me some desperately needed help?

Is it BlueRay or HDDVD? If it is you might look at "RestrictedFormats BluRayAndHDDVD" on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Re...BluRayAndHDDVD

Could you post the output from "dmesg" and "less /etc/fstab" (just type those commands without the "" in your terminal).
