New to Ubuntu can't get video player to work.?
 

Also is Lugar ( Linux of Rochester Group) the only place you can get started with Linux in general. I am really cheap and want to exercise my mind. I feel that Ubuntu (Debian) is the quickest way.

What do you mean you "Can't get it to work" ? Could you elaborate on what happens?

And you can 'get started with linux' anywhere. In fact LinuxQuestions is probably the best place, due to the huge amount of knowledge available here. If you have a problem, just search the forum, odds are someone else has had the same problem before and the solution is already there.
