New to linux prob with old computer please help


Im trying to put linux Knoppix on an old IBM with a pentium II prosseser i got with a bunch of old comp. everything works good i insert it it reads it it starts doing everything and then i get a error, "problem reading display" i have pics but it wont let me post them

At the boot prompt, press f2 and or f3 to see the boot options. Look for something like low res or anything which gives you resolution options.

i tyred it and couldnt find that, it is still saying " PC DISPLAY SETUP NOT CORRECT "

And on another computer I put the cd in and it told me to use a floppy, so i got Smart Boot Manager and put in in and then it said no disk found insert disk or disk may be curroppt but the disk is fine.

knnopix uses KDE and IMHO your box wouldn't support it.

You may try lighter live-cd distros like dynebolic (uses a less resource hungry GUI) and Slax (uses KDE and a less resource hungry GUI).

Dynebolic and slax both bring me to the floppy page, when the cd boot works for other ones, how can i put like dynebolic on floppys to boot it onto the computers????
