New to Linux : how do I get my Brother mfc255cw to install in ubuntu 10.10
 
I was told to enter some prompt, but never told where.. I am getting frustrated.. looks like a great OS but I cannot get my printer up & running and thats the one thing I need...

Hello Tymgoss, welcome to LQ,

normaly in Linux we use cups for printing. cups comes with a webinterface, you open it in a browser, the adress is

there you can add the printer.

Brother Linux Driver may be required
 
Also, you may need to get the Linux driver from Brother, they have them on their website.
