New to Linux and jumping head first
Hello all, I am new to linux and was wondering if anyone is using the program LDAP Account Manager (LAM) and if it is worth the money to buy the Pro version.
I work for a small engineering firm and we are switching from Netware to SLES 11 Sp2 and I am having a heck of a time with configuring Samba 3 with LDAP. So far I see that the forums I have looked at point towards programs like LAM but are is it really worth the cost? Since we are using SLES and not open SLES it appears there is an LDAP schema not recognized in the free version of LAM. Just wondering and wanted to say HI, Heinzk1 |
There's a good HOWTO on LDAP here and also 3 to do with Samba; might be good to understand the actual workings.
