New to linux and having trouble downloading a game for the kid's
I recently switched my secondary/kid's computer to run with linux. I am trying to download a game called wizards101 for them that they play frequently. I keep getting this message reading
Archive: /tmp/InstallWizard101-1.exe[/tmp/InstallWizard101-1.exe] End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /tmp/InstallWizard101-1.exe or /tmp/InstallWizard101-1.exe.zip, and cannot find /tmp/InstallWizard101-1.exe.ZIP,period. I dont know what to do about getting it downloaded. I never had this problem downloading this game on windows. Does anyone have any suggestions for me??? |
Hi rjfo08, A quick check on google suggests that this game is an only windows one. This means that you cannot play it in Linux unless you use Wine. Even this I found is not always successful although I did not do any in depth research.
You have the option of playing the online version but I guess you already know that. The only alternative is for you to check out games that are similar to the one that you want but which will run on the Linux environment and see if you like them. Just googling will give you a number of options. |
