New to Linux
 

i am an IT guy but used to working in windows i have i have always had passion for open sorce and im trying to convert my organisation to an open sorce oriented organisation.How ever i have a training in February next year for Red Hat but i would want to jerk myself before that .i have fedora core 12 and i want to start by training from my company will it give me server clent capabilities if i install it on 4 computers and can i add back up services and all the other .Where will you suggest i start to learn

I'd start by getting Fedora 12 installed, and then work on doing some hosted services (SAMBA, NFS, FTP/SFTP) just the sort of things your company would do. Play around with VNC, that kind of thing. Learn to start and stop services, extend file systems, tweak permissions.

Definitely play with stuff like firewalls and apache, since most companies love those.

Hard to say otherwise, depends on what they want you to do :)

If you are serious about using RHEL in a business context, either get hold of RHEL (but you have to pay) or get the equiv Centos: a free version of RHEL.
Latest is 5.4.
I wouldn't use Fedora for this.
BTW, they dropped the 'Core' part of the name some versions back (v7 ?)
