New to Linux

Hi ,

I am totally new to linux and would like to know if there are any easy ways to learn Linux from the scratch?.

i think that first you must choose a distro and install it as a next point you can try to read how to documents which are related to your interest. For the distro case i suggest ubuntu because its very close to the windows and package installation and upgrade is easy (pls remember to close auto update)

what are you trying to do the quickest way to get familiar is to run a live cd..... The rest comes with time.... Now if your trying to get to the level of MIT student well you got a really long way to go.... You better plan to make your own kernel from strach...

Just what level do you want to get to....?

good luck...

But a LiveCD would be a good start and learning to program...

CentOS is a free clone of the RHEL linux distribution. It is 100% compatible, with all of the Red Hat trademarked logos removed:
