New to Linux

Greetings to all, I like to use digital amateur modes such as PSK31, (Low power and great range). My club has an IRLP repeater configured using Fedora Core 3 and not many members who know the Linux language. So there are two reasons for me to learn the basics. Hope not to get myself in too much trouble. 73 for now.

Hopefully you won't need to make any changes as your system hasn't been supported for almost ten years. Typo?

Linux Mint NO SOUND

Greetings to All: I have noticed that Linux Mint Ver 17.3 seems to be loosing or not detecting the sound card in my computer at boot up. Even though it is an older Toshiba Tecra A9, that should not matter. I used the Terminal command (sudo alsa force-reload). It worked until I re-booted the computer later and I had to enter the same Terminal command to get the sound working again. I will investigate a more permanent solution, YouTube videos are great especially for a Newbie like me. Thanks for any answer.

Hi...

As a suggestion, you might want to create a new thread, as this is a separate topic and you might get more folks to take a look at it since this one is marked "SOLVED." Please be sure to include information about your sound chip using...

Code:

lspci -v | grep -i -A7 audio
