Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hello, I am currently a new user of Linux Fedora. I Have encountered various problems ranging from Inability to install new softwares and my CD player does not paly any sound when i insert an audio CD. Please can anyone tell me how to work around these issues.
I downloaded enlightenment but it refused to install prompting me that there is a needed dependency.
Moved: This thread is more suitable in a more technical formu like Linux-Newbie and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves. Member Intro is a great place to say hello, but there's better place for technical questions.
When installing new programs, try to use yum tool. If you download packages separately you need to get all the dependencies, what take some time (espacially searching for them). Tool like yum will do it for you.
