Go to a terminal and type the following:

Code:
cd <to the directory the tar.gz file is in>
tar xvzf <filename.tar.gz>
cd <to the directory that was just created>
./configure
make
su -c 'make install'
After typing su -c 'make install' you will need to enter your root password.

Sometimes you may get dependency problems. If you do, you will have to install the software that is required by the program.

If the above doesn't work. After decompressing the file read the files README and INSTALL for more info on how to install. (Hopefully the README or INSTALL file will have instructions)

I hope all goes well.

i think you should take a look if there in't any compatible linux comunicator. Like it hapends with MSN, there is aMSN for linux, or ICQ, there is LICQ. Or skype, that exist for both the same.

I believe you can use Linux Skype to communicate with Windows Skype?
