New connection mgr Aspire Linux loses WEP pw after reboot

Have Acer Aspire one with Linux Lite (standard) needed a connection manager
for Tmobile 3G (Huwaei USB). Downloaded one from a forum which works but the WLAN settings do not keep the WEP settings after closing so you have to reselect WEP open, Hex and password (HEX string) everytime you re-connect.

Unhappy Acer Aspire

My older Acer Aspire always had problems with the CPU fan. It overheated so many times, the video is permanently hosed. Acer wanted $450 to send it in for repair. They wouldn't sell me any replacement parts like a CPU fan. Instead of repairing it, I ordered a more reliable new Dell laptop. I probably won't buy an Acer laptop again.

fixed using info from Acer Aspire One users forum and did following open /etc/xdg/autostart/nm-applet.desktop
and edit the line: Exec=nm-applet --sm-disable

add "sudo" in this way: Exec=sudo nm-applet --sm-disable

Thanks for the help
