New Babie In Linux - How to used wine?
 
Hi Everybody,

I want to used Microsoft word and excel. somebody had advice to used wine tool but i am not technical person so please advice me

Look into open office. It's an open source equivalent of MS office. It can even read Word/Excel/Powerpoint files.

I agree. Unless you happen to use some very complicated VBA scripts, openoffice is the thing. Latest version support all the formats.

Only windows applications that might be needed is some of the games. In almost everything else you'll find good Linux based alternatives.

You might also want to look at CrossOver (http://codeweavers.com) It is the commercial port of WINE and has some user-friendly features.

I suggest that you remove the "selectcomfort" link from your sig. People may see this as advertising.

Hi,

Another option would be to use a "VM' instead of a emulator like 'WINE'. I like 'VirtualBox'.
