NetworkManager

I just loaded Suse 11.3 on my laptop. I can't get my wireless network to work. I tried via Yast and then switched back to Network Manager but nothing works. NM says that it is running, however I have no way to access it. No icon and I don't know where it is located or how to add to desktop panel. Can someone help?

To get the network manager icon to show up in the panel (assuming NetworkManager is running properly): open a run dialog <Alt-F2> and enter nm-applet then hit the ok button

I entered the following command:
lspci-nn | egrep "etwork|thernet"

result:
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01)

Does this mean anything or help?
