networking linux pc and windows pc

i am such a newbie i haven't loaded my linux operating system yet but have hopefully a simple one for someone: i have two pc's in my home sharing the same dsl connection...will i still be able to share this connection if i keep one machine on windows?

yes, there should be no problem. how have you got the connection sharing setup? through a hub/switch

What is your network setup currently like - do both machines connect to a central hub (ethernet or wireless), or does one machine connect to the net using DSL, and the second machine share the connection though the first machine?

yeah i currently run 1 windows machine, 1 windows/linux machine, and a linux server, they all connect to a central switch. simple to setup

it will still work either way, if you are connecting to the first machine, then it will require two eth cards (unless your using wirless) and just set the gateways correctly for each machine
