Network settings / DNS Server settings

Is it good or bad practice to setup workstations to use several different valid DNS servers??? The current workstation I'm using now is set to the company's nameservers & I also have it set to use my home ISP's DNS servers.

Shouldn't this be better than just using 2 nameservers?

Are you talking about nameserver entries in /etc/resolv.conf? I think it's good practice - particularly if you know there are reliability problems with the servers you have access to.

I don't recommend using the root servers, but others may disagree. Were you having a problem with DNS resolution?

Yes in /etc/resolv.conf or System Preferences or wherever the network settings may be for that matter...
