Network Printing in Mandrake

Hi,
I am still having problems printing over my Vendow$ network in Mandrake. I got it to work like a charm in RH 8 but in Mandrake it acts like there is nothing there?
Can someone please tell me how this can be done in Mandrake. I can use Gnome or KDE to set it up. I have tried using TCP, and cups and niether work? Did they leave out something here?

Got a great deal today on a IBM Thinkpad 600. 300 mhz for less a than $300.

Thanks,

You should elaborate on your network a bit. Is it a home lan with a couple of computers or a huge office lan? Which comp. is the printer attached to? If you got it working in RH it should work in Mandy too, as they both have essentially the same tools...

THe Brother printer is hooked up to 98 box, with full printer share.
I have my lan setup as a workgroup, and my acces to the net is protected by a router. ( Only until I get fimulure with Linux enough then I will have a Linux as authinication and fireawall and the router on it as well.) RIght now though I am fortunate enough not have any problems.
I hope this answers your question about Lan setup.
Thanks for your help,

I suggest you try this website and look for your particular brand of printer. It will tell you how good a particular printer works with linux, and the suggested drivers to use with it. It also has links to cups docs, etc which might help you to get it to work.

Again though, can't you just check your settings on RH8 and duplicate them on Mandy?

Also are you sure it is a printer problem, and not a network problem?
