Angry network printer HELP

wow, i've been trying to do this all night and i'm sure that i'm missing something really basic.

here is my setup. i'm running RH9 on two machines. one machine is setup as a firewall with two NICs. i can print from this machine fine since the printer is local. i have setup ip masquerading and nfs for the internal machine, but i can't get the internal machine to print to the remote printer.

i have checked iptables and all traffice from the internal network is accepted on the machine with the local printer. most recently, when i try to print, i get the following error: "Remote host did not accept control file (32)"

the printer is an Epson Stylus C82, connected through /dev/usb/lp0. i have cups enabled, i changed /etc/xinetd.d/cups-lpd to enable. i restarted cups. i've rebooted. etc...

any ideas on how to get this printer working? it's driving me up the wall.

thanks in advance.

thanks for the help. i finally solved the problem by simply switching to LPD printing instead of CUPS. i'm obviously too stupid to figure CUPS out :-)

thanks agian.
