Network interfacess are not comming up

My network interface is not comming up

My os is Redhat 2.1 AS

I am getting this message on the console

hda: bad special flag 0x03


Does this has any thing to do with this (Why my network drivers are not comming up)

Try and see ifconfig eth0 and ifconifg eth0 up or down

I tried it is saying no such device, but if I do netconfig I can configure the device.
