Network Connection Up and Down?

I have Ubuntu 8.10 running with wired Broadband Connection through modem Landline Connection. What I can see is after every 3 minutes my Ethernet changes ie Eth0 is up and then eth0 is down, eth1 is up and vice versa.
Due to this webpage stuck and wait for next ethernet interface to come up.
What could be reason for the same?

#sudo ifconfig -a
