Unhappy Network connection between Linux/UNIX machines

This is about connecting between Linux/UNIX machines. I'm running Red Hat 7.2 and Solaris 8 for Intel. In attemping to connect from my Linux machines to my Solaris machines I have no problem. However, when ever I try to connect to a Linux machine from either a Linux or Solaris machine the connection is refused.

I think it's a security problem but I don't know where to start.

Please help.

check out your firewall config (iptables -L) and add some accepting rules to it if necessary, then check that if you use things like ssh, they accept the config..check that files like hosts.allow and hosts.deny are set up ok and so on..

oh yeah, forgot to mention...I'm pretty sure you'll find hosts.allow and hosts.deny in /etc/ but if you don't, then use locate or find or whereis to find them
