network computer is no longer accessible
When i first install ubuntu 10.10 the other day my entire windows shared network was visible and accessible through places/network ect.
i only had an issue creating a link. which someone from here helped me with ( thank you). Now , for some reason i can no longer see the other windows comp or any of its folders but i can see my sons laptop ( running vista) . obviously i still have access to the network and i have checked the sharing settings on the windows machine. all is good. any ideas? thanks |

Hi 708crane,
Ubuntu comes with a package named "smbclient", you should check this. Read here http://linux.about.com/od/ubusrv_doc/a/ubusg33t08.htm Referring to the Ubuntu documentation smbclient is part of Samba, but also available without Samba. Edit: you may look at the manpage Code:
man smbclient |
