After i click the "add" button in the network connection screen, all fields are blank and i can't modify anything.
  1. make sure 'Connect automatically' is checked
  2. in 'IPv4 Settings' tab, choose 'Automatic (DHCP) address only' not 'Automatic (DHCP)'
  3. reboot

Hi mddesai,

1. It seems working now , but i feel the speed is slow. I'm monitoring.

2. The other question is why i can't ping "http://yahoo.com" in terminal ,
but i can visit this website via the browser (firefox)?

3. May i know what is the purpose of the file "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-lo" ?

Thanks.

i guess since its http, its used by web browsers not ping utility. ping uses icmp. give 'ping yahoo.com' or 'ping www.yahoo.com'

the purpose of the file "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-lo"
its loopback interface
