network booting/installing - driver issue
Hey there,
For the passed two hours I've been trying to find a way to install ubuntu or any other distro on to my power edge 1550. The Cd-ROM is supposedly "working" but it just repeatdly blinks and doesn't detect any of my CD's so I am forced to booting from a floppy and looking for ways to do a network boot. eventually I found a bootdisk.img from which I booted and it allowed me to install from FTP/HTTP but it needs my network card's driver. Once it asked me for the other disc with the drivers, I popped in that mainstream driver floppy called "netird.img" or something similar.. Unfortunately it didn't have the driver for my network card Network Adapter (NIC): Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100] (rev 0 So - does anyone know how I can get the driver for that onto a floppy so I can continue with my network install? I looked on the Intel website but it had a .exe driver for it, which wasn't much help in this case Any help is appreciated, thanks |
