Netscape 7.1

Hello, it's me again, and thanks for all your previous help. I just downloaded and installed Netscape 7.1, but it seems that my computer doesn't recognize that I've installed it. For example, the Netscape 4.x page comes up when I log into Netscape, and only brings up the new Netscape page when I click anywhere on the 4.x page. Also, I tried to log into wwitv.com to watch TV, but it also says that I need an updated browser (i.e., Netscape 7.1). Any ideas?

change your links to execute:

/usr/local/netscape/netscape

the command, netscape, by itself executes the old 4.X version of netscape that came with your distro.

are you using kde or gnome? if you're using kde, just right click on your netscape desktop icon and choose properties. click the excute tab and in Command textbox, put in that netscape command in the previous post. if the icon is on your taskbar right click the icon on the taskbar and do the same thing. if it's in your kmenu, right click the kicker button (or kstart button i guess) and choose menu editor. find the listing for netscape in the menu and change the command.
