Netgear WG511 firmware

I have been following 2005 threads regarding firmware installation for my Netgear WG511 wireless PC Card. They direct me to prism54.org (archived) where I download 1.0.4.3.arm firmware. Instructions are to rename this file isl3890 and put it in my /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware directory. No such directory in Fedora 9. Should I make it? Or should I move file to /lib/firmware which does exist? What file in Linux directs the adapter microprocessor to the firmware directory?

This is a Made in Taiwan, Version 2 WG511 with a Intersil Prism chipset.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Try putting it in '/lib/firmware'
