Netgear FA312TX NIC

I am building a small system to use as a Firewall, probably using Smoothwall (based on Red Hat Linux). This will be my first move into a Linux based system, so it's all new ground for me even though I've been building Windows PCs for over 10 years !

My configuration includes a Netgear FA312 NIC, I have heard of reported problems with the FA31x range of cards, does anyone have any experience using these ?

TIA
