Net problems
 
Ok so pumped just installed linux for the first time, no problems in the install, but just hit something now. I cant get it to pick up internet. I am running Mandrake 9.2 running KDE. I go into the Control Center and it has my interface eth0 and the State is down. The ethernet is onboard, does this make a differnce, should i get a PCI one? any help thanks.

when you try to activate it, what message do you get?

what do you mean by activate it? extreme linux noob here

in the Network gui there should be a button that says activate.
