nessus (and others) not find wifi card
Hi. I'm new to Linux, but have already learned a bit about it. I have compiled madwifi-ng-r3366+r5007 drivers on a 32-bit installation of Ubuntu 8.04. Works great on connecting to networks and all that.
I have installed nessus and other security programs. Nmap works fine, but nessus says it cannot find a valid device to use. My wired connection works good, but I'm on a Toshiba A215 laptop with the Atheros chipset and it can't find it.
Has anyone had any similar problems or any remedies to get it seen as a valid device?
On my list of interfaces it has: loopback, eth0, ath0, wlan0
Now wlan0 only shows up in the network tooks AFTER madwifi has been installed. lspci showed my Atheros also. I've also used openSUSE 11.0 and can't get wireless working just yet, but it shows my wifi card and says it's not configured with drivers.
