Hi, i am new to linuxquestions actually recently i configured samba 2.2 but not able to login through windows system, i created
adduser username
passwd username
smbpasswd -a username
then restarted the smb demon
but i am not able to login through windows client can anybody help me

What specific version of Windows are you using to connect to the linux machine?

What error message or symptoms are you experiencing when you try to connect from Windows?

Have you checked the Samba logs for error messages?

Provide complete information, since this is "urgent", like what version/distro of Linux, and what error(s) you're getting, and in this case, what version of Windows are you using.

Check what workgroup name your Samba server is in, and what workgroup your Windows machine is in. Try also connecting as "guest", or with an explicit workgroup/user combo, like "WORKGROUP/username", then the password.
