Need to write a shell script to run in cygwin

Hi,
Sorry but I am not at all familiar with shell scripting and now we need to write a shell script which will run in cygwin.
The script should be like a file input, script should read the file and will replace the line breaks with space until an empty line is found.
I looked into several online helps but could find anything specific. As I need this in urgent so it is difficult for me to learn everything now. Please help!!!

Let me know if I need to provide more info.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

I get the strong impression that this is homework and although it's not against the LQ rules to ask for help you shouldn't expect us to do the work for you. Neither should you ask for special attention, it's only urgent to you, not to us who are all volunteers here. That being said, you state you looked at several internet pages for help but couldn't find anything... I find that very hard to believe. Could you indicate what exactly you used as search terms? I got over 1 million hits in 0.23 seconds on Google using 'write shell script cygwin'. That should be enough to get you started. And as far as help goes:

Show us what you've got and where it's failing and we'll point you in the right direction.

Keep in mind that your teacher (if this is indeed homework of some kind), might also be a member of these forums.

Looking forward to your participation in the forums. Have fun with Linux.

Kind regards,

Eric
