Need to use X commands (xwd, xwud etc.) to get my Xgraphics window to print/save

Hi everyone, I'm a Linux novice and this is my first Q!
I'm doing a simple C exercise and have inserted commands into my program that give me out a nice bit map image of an interpolating function.
I now need to dump/undump (???) this file so I can print and save it.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!

You nailed it in the subject. Use xwd and the ImageMagick package. Do "xwd -out foo.xwd" and then click on the window to dump. Then "convert foo.xwd foo.png" or some such to convert the xwd file to a usable format.
