Need to run virus checker on windoze partition


Hi
I am using linux forthe first time now with a distro loaded into ram
wow am i impressed

i need to run a virus checker on a windows partition and have absolutely no idea of what i am doing, so please for give my ignorance in asking how to do this or post links to where i can find out.

If you have a internet connection under M$ then goto
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
which should check the PC for any virus's.

If you don't have a 'net connection, then use the 'CLAMav' program which is probably on your linux live-cd.

Have a look at:

It is about using Kapersky on a LinuxLiveCD to virus check Windows.

You need enough memory for it to work and an ethernet connection

I suggest you copy the data files you want off of windows, then run ClamAV on all your files and make sure they're all clean, then reinstall windows from scratch.

I would like to thank you all for the help i will try each suggestion in turn and see what happens
i have never used linux before but i think you have just added another to the growing number of people that are going to be leaving windoze for good in the very near future
