Smile need to reinstall liferay everytime i shutdown fedora ???

i am using fedora 9.
i have installed liferay5.2 bundle with tomcat 6.
everytime i shutdown the system and on restart i have to reinstall
the liferay software otherwise the browser shows the error
"cannot connect to localhost 8080" or "http 404 error cannot find /liferay at location".
but as soon as the reinstallation is complete liferay is working fine.
how to solve this???
is this the problem of liferay or fedora.

First, install a supported version of Fedora.

Firstly, as per the previous poster why are you using an unsupported version of Fedora? Fedora 13 was released last week - please consider moving to a recent version of Fedora.

Quote:
"cannot connect to localhost 8080" or "http 404 error cannot find /liferay at location".
The reason this is happening is since you're not starting your Tomcat instance on a reboot - the solution here is to write a script that restarts Tomcat on boot (this question has come up on numerous occasions at LQ - search the LQ Software section and you should find a script that will be appropriate).

also remember .With fedora's VERY ( exceedingly SHORT life span ) 13 months and 6 months between versions .It is NOT recommended for servers.

100% agree with JohnVV - if you need to deploy a server that will be carrying mission critical traffic, rather go for Red Hat (if your company is willing to pay the support) or with CentOS (which is basically Red Hat rebranded).
