Question need swap information.


why swap memory should be twice the physical memory?

any specific reason?

That is an old rule that doesn't really mean much today, many systems run with no swap at all, if they have enough memory, with no ill effects.

However, if you do have a laptop and use the hibernation feature, your swap needs to be at least the size of your RAM, since this is where the contents of the RAM are dumped.
