Need program to run keyboard macros in any app. under Mint

I'm looking for a program that will let me record and run keyboard macros in any application. e.g. I want it to issue the commands <Alt-f>, <arrow down> (five times) <ENTER>. If it matters, I'm running Mint13 for Gnome.
Thank you.

Try xvkbd ...

PS: xvkbd has a text mode to send strings... Doesn't need to be run as a graphical app...
