Need Java Help. (running Linspire 5.0)
Ok. I have been running Linspire for a few days now after being a longtime Microsoft Windows user. I love the features and think it's great, but I'm having issues with Java/Flash. For example. I like to play Acrophobia which can be found on uproar.com. When I go to play, it takes forever to load and then often times, the frame with the game disappears after a couple of moments causing total and utter frustration. I thought, ok, maybe if I update to the newest Java console, I should be able to play without crashing. I went to java and downloaded thier update. I clicked on it and it does nothing but open a word pad style frame and it doesn't actually install. I'm not an idiot, so I decided, ok, let's find a tutorial. I went and searched and the instructions to install may as well have been in German. I admit and accept all total n00b flames I may get, but I would appreciate anyone's assistance on this. I downloaded the install file to the My Programs folder. The name of the file (if this helps) is jre-1_5_0_05-linux-i586.bin
Again, If I'm not even doing the right thing, please let me know. If this helps also, my machine specs are as follows: 40 GB HD, 1.3GHz AMD Duron, 375MBs of RAM, Linspire 5.0. If you need anymore information, let me know. Thanks, LinuxNo0bie |
I hate to be a pain, but Please Help me?
