Need help with wicd

Hi, I am trying to connect to my network wirelessly using Slackware 13.37. I read some stuff and it told me to to download wicd from extra/. So I downloaded the folder wicd from extra/ inside one of the mirrors on the website. I dont know what to do next. How do I get wicd to work? Also, do I need to delete everything off of /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf for it to work?

You didn't need the whole folder, just the wicd-1.7.0-i486-2.txz. Install it, as root, by running:
Code:
installpkg wicd-1.7.0-i486-2.txz

Ok I got it installed. Chances are there's documentation somewhere that tells me how to set it up. Thanks for the help.

Yeah. Have a look at the README.SLACKWARE in /usr/doc/wicd-1.7.0

The wicd FAQ might be a good starting point. http://wicd.sourceforge.net/moinmoin/FAQ

You can start the wicd GUI with the wicd-client command.
