Need help with tcsh script!!!!

I have to write a script for class and i can't figure it out, please help me!!!

1. write a tcsh script called whatkind, that:
a)prints "not a file or directory", if the first argument is not a regular file or directory.
b)prints "it is a file", if the first argument is a regular file
c) prints "it is a directory", if the first argument is directory

2. create a tcsh script called whatkinds, that builds on the script from the last exercise and is capable of determining the type of as many arguments as it is given

As per the LQ Rules you should do you should do your homework yourself. Asking help with specific questions might be possible but that requires you demonstrate your skill and way of thinking and the effort you already put in. You best do that by posting whatever (pseudo)code you've got already.

And our "official" response to homework threads

Quote:
Per the LQ Rules, please do not post homework assignments verbatim. We're happy to assist if you have specific questions or have hit a stumbling point, however. Let us know what you've already tried and what references you have used (including class notes, books, and Google searches) and we'll do our best to help. Also, keep in mind that your instructor might also be an LQ member.
closing this one---please feel free to start another thread which follows these guidelines--or the ones offered by unSpawn.
