Need help with partitioning for installing Linux Mint 17 KDE

I have an Acer 5733Z laptop I am installing Linux Mint 17 KDE onto it, dual boot. What I want to do is to put a couple of distros on it. It already has Windows 7, and has taken up 3 primary partitions already, the factory backup, boot and the rest for Win 7. So it will only let me have 1 more primary partition. Do I install Mint to that partition, then shrink it later and put the logical partition on it for the other distro? Thanks

No you create an extended partition using all the remaining space. Then you can allocate as many logical partitions (for the various distros) as will fit.

Thanks syg00 I'm sure a bit of searching, here or google, would have gotten me the answer but I was tired and frustrated after trying it the wrong way, the first thing that popped into my mind was Linux Questions, so I came over and asked the question. Very kind of you to answer this question again for a Newbie, again my thanks

P.S. : And yes, I did do a full image of my Win 7 before starting this endeavor Backups are a weakness of mine though, I often forget
