Hey guys, I am installing Mandrake 9 to dual boot with XP from an iso I downloaded.

I boot up from CD, and the Mandrake 9 "startup wizard" pops up. I press "enter" as promted to begin the first step of the installation, and Mandrake chokes. It takes me to a black screen immediatly and doesnt move. Two of my keyboard LEDs flash in sync, caps lock and another. I have to restard.

I have tried the low rez and text only installation options available through an advanced menu at the Mandrake startup screen, and they hang as well.

My Specs are:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD 2700+
1024MB Corsair XMS DDR333
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

Any help??

If I cannot get this to work... what other user friendly distros should I try?

check if the ISO is broken, but the blank screen happened to me once when i was installing it on my P133, cant remember why but it was some hardware that caused it.

Well, I just went through the painless install of RH8. It was so easy.

It feels like windows to me... I cant wait to learn enough so I can advance to slackware.
