CRAP!

Ok...

the gui 'adept package manager' will not open!

So...

I try to open it using the terminal and I get this:

"The APT Database will be opened in read-only mode, this means you cannot install/uninstall/upgrade anything. You have to run this program as root to be able to do that."

So...

I type, 'su', then enter password and get in as:

root@shop:/home/scott#

NOW I got it! (so I think!) I now get this:

root@shop:/home/scott# adept
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

adept: cannot connect to X server :0.0
root@shop:/home/scott#

CRAP!

Any ideas? Thanks!

P.S. I'm tryin to find this stuff online, (really, I am!) but i guess Im a Google

try "sudo adept" and when prompted for a password, give your USER password, not your root password.
